
Cordillera Ranch is being developed by Cordillera Ranch Development
Corp. which is a subsidiary of DH Investment Company, a Lufkin,
Texas based real estate investment and development Company. DH
Investment Company was formed in 1983 by David A. Hill and Thomas P.
Darmstadter for the purpose of developing residential communities
and commercial properties. Prior to forming DH Investment Company,
Darmstadter and Hill served as President and Vice-President
respectively of Exeter Investment Co., a large real estate
development and investment company owned by the Temple family of
East Texas. Hill and Darmstadter have combined experience of over 60
years in the real estate development business and have developed all
types of real estate including shopping centers, apartments, hotels
and numerous upscale residential and golf course communities. They
are in various stages of development on five upscale residential
communities: Wood Glen in Round Rock, Texas, northwest of Austin,
Covered Bridge in southwest Austin, The Headlands at Steiner Ranch
in west Austin, Southern Trace in Shreveport, Louisiana, and
Cordillera Ranch in the Texas Hill Country, 20 minutes northwest of
San Antonio.
David Hill is a native Texan and 1972 graduate of UT-Austin with a
BBA in finance. Hill began his real estate career as a real estate
salesman while a student at the University of Texas - Austin. Hill
developed his first subdivision in the Westlake area of Austin in
1976 and has been actively involved in numerous real estate
developments since that time.
Thomas P. Darmstadter graduated from the University of Alabama in
1958 and began his career in the real estate industry working for a
large national market research firm. Darmstadter was also previously
associated with three major real estate development companies,
Lumbermen's Investment Corporation, Baker-Jones-Crow and Jagger
Associates.
