the course - Cordillera Ranch the course - Cordillera Ranch

This report is prepared to assist those who are playing Cordillera Ranch for the first time and would like the knowledge that some of our better players have accumulated over several years of operation.

The most important natural factor at Cordillera Ranch is what we call the “valley” effect. All but 2 greens (8 and 14) sit in a natural valley with the high point being the sixth tee and the low point at the twelfth green. All but 4 holes (8,9,14,15) run parallel with the valley. When hitting a full shot, chip shot or putt “down valley” it will release. Conversely, any shot played up valley will check up and not roll out. This will affect every shot that you play. Down valley runs approximately South to North.

This guide was created with the following assumptions:

Green speeds are typically 11-12 for tournament play.
Prevailing wind is out of the SE which is helping and right to left on 1.
Guide is prepared from the Bear tees.
All yardages are from the plates.
